The Chief Technology Office is responsible for overall Information Technology strategy within this 7000 person organization. CTO’s mission is to optimize IT environment by driving standardization of the production environment, reducing complexity, optimizing management of systems supporting global functions such as Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management and Finance, and introducing innovative technologies that provide new business capabilities, reduce the technology total cost of ownership, and create a competitive advantage for the firm. The Risk and Finance group within the CTO enables entire umbrella of global businesses have a holistic approach to risk, allowing risk managers to manage, measure and proactively mitigate risk taken by the firm. It also develops advanced analytics frameworks that support internal business and financial intelligence as well as regulatory reporting.

Description
The Strategy, Planning & Client Reporting function is part of the office of the COO. The team facilitates the planning of and reporting on the group’s global portfolio of multi-million dollar programs, keeping senior clients and stakeholders informed and engaged. It helps senior technology leaders plan and drive large scale, complex initiatives through maintaining a robust knowledge base of the group’s work and the environment in which it operates – business and regulatory.

This role will focus on supporting and helping shape a large scale, accelerated Risk and Finance programs.

Responsibilities include partnering with senior managers and clients, as well as technical experts, to create and document strategies and roadmaps across the organization; reporting on the status of the portfolio of large scale, strategic initiatives through periodic reports and management meetings; understanding of current risks, issues and dependencies, as well as new regulatory and/or market requirements, and communication with senior stakeholders.

Detailed Job Description
• Support and drive management strategy formulation, strategic process improvements and communication of strategies to all stakeholders
• Track and communicate target state vision and status through appropriate channels
• Oversee the communication of technology achievements and releases; prepare monthly senior strategic updates
• Develop and enforce standards that drive the organization to meeting its target state strategic goals
• Serve as the main point of contact for regulatory commitments. Build consensus on dates and status across technology teams
• Understand the budget process and provide detailed research and analysis on financial impacts from committed deliverables; respond to executive ‘tasks’ with immediate attention and short turn-around time frames
• Create, publish and review client presentations, briefings and other forms of communication on strategy to seniors. Facilitate reviews with senior managers and stakeholders to build consensus
• Must be able to interpret technology status or issues and communicate and translate into well written business updates for senior audiences
• Continuously improve subject matter expertise in the business areas to become a trusted advisor to the business stakeholders, acting as a partner to enable and improve strategic and operational problem solving across the organization
Requirements / Qualifications
• Knowledge of Risk and Finance would be beneficial, as would history with Big 4 Management Consulting
• Attention to detail is of paramount importance. Information presented is visible to senior executives (Board Directors, CRO, CTO) or outside regulators. Quality and Accuracy of updates is imperative. However, the successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
• Must be able to interpret technology status or issues and communicate and translate into well written business updates for senior audiences
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Experience in Risk is strongly preferred
• Technical and/or business expertise in understanding requirements, and bringing a product to market/release throughout the SDLC Lifecycle
• Program/project management experience
• Able to prepare effective presentations that illustrate strategic landscape of large organization; possess excellent PowerPoint skills (big picture mentality)
• Advanced Excel skills – able to manage large data files to prepare succinct summaries and identify trends
• Able to navigate through large organizations to streamline and summarize multiple information points; create repeatable process to build consistency in presenting information.
• Demonstrated leadership, with particular aptitude for leading in a fast-paced, highly intellectually and complex environment.
• Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree an advantage.
