Global Production Support Manager

Overview:
Responsible for developing world class platforms for our clients flow and derivative products, which include Fixed Income, Futures. Fund, Equity, Credit, Foreign Exchange, Clearing and Prime Services. Unique among these products is the need for highly analytical and flexible systems that enable the processing of complex and varied transactions.

The Global Production Services team looks after over 600 applications providing level 1 and level 2 support. This role will lead the America’s responsibility to build a sustainable organization and infrastructure which can support the dynamic and rapidly growing global businesses.

Major Challenges:
The rapidly changing landscape of the Global Markets America’s business requires a flexible production services group to be able to move at the same rate of change that the business requires.
As the business moves towards an America’s model (as opposed to an in-country model) global consistency of governance, process and tooling is essential. This will mean working closely with other regional managers and systems developed outside of the region

Technical
15+ years Global Markets Led technology experience
Experience effectively applying technology best practices and processes to a high-paced Capital Markets organization
Good understanding of the different demands placed on infrastructure by different asset groups
Understanding of Monitoring and Capacity tools and technologies in order to meet business needs, i.e. low latency and capacity monitoring.

Broad understanding of client service organizations and complex cross asset IT solutions and how the interface between business and IT should operate effectively
Strong market knowledge of a broad range of Global Markets products
Experience working directly with trading desks and trading management

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Previous Hands-on application and/or infrastructure management experience
Management experience of a two tiered (L1 and L2) global follow the sun application support organization (ideally supporting low latency eCommerce or complex product trading), with proven cross-team collaboration leveraging shared resources as appropriate.
Proven track record of managing teams of size 80+ including yearly reviews, salary and bonus review, contractor negotiation and vendor management (ideally Murex / Calypso / ION)
Proven Track record of managing off shore teams preferably in India, China, Brazil and Mexico (latter two preferred)
Organization and operational optimisation change management experience
Well tuned technical knowledge relating to application management (infra, Dbase, App Architecture) and advanced problem solving
Strong financial, resource and project management skills.
Good understanding of ITIL methodologies as applicable to Application Management function
Incident / Inquiry tracking tools: GSD, Jira
Development and management of KPI (Key Performance Indicators).
Experience working in a rapid high paced environment.
Proven strength of dealing with senior business sponsors including MD level
Experience of working in a high-pressure investment banking environment – and dealing with trading and sales staff
Understanding of investment bank front and back office process flows, including those from upstream and downstream systems
Understanding of investment bank exposure to SOX and other regulatory controls

IDEAL EXPERIENCE
Significant experience of global and regional production support within a global investment banking environment with exposure to both front and back office flows. Experience of working with offshore support groups also essential
