Junior Developer
Major Asset Management firm is seeking a Junior Developer to support, analyze, and enhance their technical infrastructure which includes portfolio management, trading, compliance, operations, and reporting. The role will offer the opportunity to be a key part of the straight through processing workflows. This position will work very closely with portfolio managers, traders, and back office.
Responsibilities and Areas of Control:
• Enhance and maintain order generation, position management and reporting platform
• Day to day support of Portfolio managers, traders, and operations users, ensuring reliable and timely operation of scheduled jobs and processes
• Contribute to the development of process efficiency and controls
• The role requires an individual with web programming experience preferably with Flask or React web frameworks
• Developer will need to be able to handle HTML web design along with AJAX requests interacting with front end HTML
• Individual will manage process flows across databases and front end systems ensuring data quality and integrity
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science preferred
• Relevant experience in the finance industry preferred
• Strong fundamentals in programming. Python is preferred.
• Experience with a web framework such as Flask or React a major plus
• Experience with Pandas library, SQL, HTML preferable
• Must have pro-active approach, detail oriented, and strong problem solving skills
• Manage multiple tasks while working under strict time deadlines
