Data Scientist
Description:
Major Investment Banks Research technology division is looking for a VP level data scientist to help with designing and implementing complex machine learning / Natural Language Processing models and solving business problems using predictive modeling and Big Data tools. The role will require the candidate to work independently with Research business and vendors to be able to analyze and define problem statements, and work closely with development teams to design and implement the solution and manage the delivery of these projects.
Qualifications
The candidate should have the following skills:
- 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing machine learning models in the following areas:
- Classification, clustering, pattern recognition, reinforcement learning, and predictive analytics
- Natural language processing, tokenization, tagging, topic modeling, document classification
- Entity identification/extraction and knowledge discovery from structured and unstructured content
- Analyzing sentiment and gathering insights from large volume of unstructured data
- Expert in R, Python, SAS, Tableau, or other machine learning/analytical tools
- Familiar with database systems such as DB2, Sybase, and Oracle
- Experience in big data technologies, such as Hadoop/Hive and Spark
- PhD (preferred) or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
